Kindle 2 is a showcase of how serious Amazon is in perfecting ereading experience. Amazon gave the design of the first Kindle an overhaul to give its second generation device a sleeker and slimmer look. The Kindle 2 also shows improved/added features, including better grayscale rendering, longer battery life, better refresh rate, and larger storage.
It is worth highlighting that Amazon didn’t stop improving the Kindle 2. Long after the device was launched in February 2009, Amazon continued to make changes to the Kindle. One of the most notable is making the device more affordable by dropping the price to $259 from its original retail price of $359. In less than a year, downloadable reading materials in the Kindle Store increased by over 130,000. As of September 2009, the Kindle Store had approximately 350,000 books available for download. Today, it has over 480,000. Amazon has also released an international version of the Kindle 2. The global Kindle can access the Kindle Store over the Sprint network (the US version is powered by AT&T). However, Whispernet access and experimental browsing features are limited in some countries. The international version also retails at $259. Taking account all the above features including standard ones such as low book prices ($9.99 for most titles), over the air download via Whispernet, and a display technology that recreates traditional reading experience, it’s not difficult to see why the Kindle continues to dominate the eReader market.

While 6-inch screen may not be ideal for broad layouts such as magazines and newspapers, it does allow comfortable reading of books. As it uses eInk screen, the Kindle is readable in various lighting environments. 16 shades of grayscale and 600 x 800 pixel resolution sets the standard in sharpness of texts and images. A common complaint in the past was Kindle’s lack of native PDF support. The Kindle 2 now has built-in PDF reader, which even supports a variety of languages. You also have the option to convert PDF documents to Kindle format. For a small fee, you can send personal documents and image files to your Kindle wirelessly. The Kindle’s greatest disadvantage, most experts say, is its lack of support for open source content. Recently, Amazon made a change to its Digital Text Platform. Small publishers and individual authors can now opt out of DRM publishing format. With Kindle’s Text to Speech feature, you can have the device read out loud stories to you. The TTS feature, however, raised a debate last year over copyright issues. Amazon didn’t remove the feature, but modified the systems by leaving the decision to enable or disable the feature to authors and publishers. The Bottom Line The Kindle may have flaws in design, but they don’t impact what Kindle 2 does best: giving you the pleasures of reading.

The other consideration, and one that people do not think of, is that by buying a body you commit to living with the in-laws, all the accessories which are for the most part brand specific.

The obvioius one is the lenses. You will most likely want a midium (to 200 mm) zoom and perhaps a 300mm long zoom as well as a wide angle down to maybe 18. Remember that the normal lens of a digital is less than 50 (about 45 I belieive). Here is a link to a good review on canon glass: http://photonotes.org/reviews/ef-lenses/.

Nikon lenses are superior in performance and much more expensive I have found. SO depends on you uses. A test may be able to show differences without you being able to tell the difference. I think it more important to get a good camera and basic lenses and then take pictures non-stop for a while and critically look at what you have wrought.

It all depends on what exactly you want to use the camera for. If you want regular everyday pictures of family, friends or out and about at a party or something, I would go with the Canon Powershot SD780IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera. It's light weight and compact size, which is something you would need for that kind of picture taking. It's going to be on sale at Staples for $199.99 on Nov 1st through the 7th and it will ship for free if you don't have a store in your area. IF you want another added 30 dollars off, I'm not sure where people got these coupons, but they are selling them for a dollar or two on ebay for 30 off 150 dollar purchases at Staples. The camera comes in black or red and you can also read extensive reviews on Amazon, so you get an idea of what other people thought of it.

If you are into photography and want something more professional, I highly recommend the Canon EOS Rebel XSi camera. It's probably the best camera you can get for under $500l! My sister owns this one and the picture quality is flawless. So, I found it on http://www.Photoloon.com for $479.99 with free shipping and normally the retail price for this is around $550.00-600. Another site has it for 10 dollars less, but I would avoid it at all costs, since the customer service reviews are poor.

When you have camera's like the EOS Rebel XSI, you'll want to get different kinds of lenses for it depending on whatever type of image quality you're going for. The 50mm f1.8 lens would be a great addition to this, but it's not really necessary unless you're into photography. But, it is better than the stock lens and you'd enjoy it!

Now, with Black Friday coming up, you could possibly find a better deal than what I mentioned above. But, you'll have to keep an eye out for electronic ads on http://www.BlackFriday.info to see.

I'm a music fanatic and love all the new gadget that are out there. If you want the best MP3 player then I would have to say that is the the Apple iPod Touch 8GB. You have access to the weather, rent movies, create web clips, even make a to-do list. This 8GB iPod touch holds 3,000 songs, 20,000 photos, and/or up to 20 hours of video. And, you can access it all via the amazing, convenient, touch-screen display. Now if you still want a great iPod, but don't want to spend as much money then I would recommend the Nano, still has great features as well.

Smartphones are such great devices and you can do just about everything on them. They are a little expensive but depending on if you would like a contract with it or not will determine the price. I highly suggest any of the ones I have listed for you because you will not need any other devices and they are pocket size for easy traveling.

Since I just replace my refrigerator recently, I am a huge fan of Whirlpool. The stainless steel finish hides little fingerprints in my house and the ice dispenser and water dispenser cut down on the constant opening of the doors. Perhaps you would prefer the first ice and water dispensing 4-Door French Door refrigerator, exclusively from LG. I love the doors on it but was not practical with small children.

I absolutely love the HTC Dream G1 Smartphone! I personally like this phone better than the Iphone. This phone does come with WI-FI and a high speed 3.5G Network. There is also a nifty pull out keyboard on this phone which definitely makes texting and using the internet easier! If you're looking for something a little cheaper, I would also recommend checking out the Sony Ericsson G705 Slider. It has many of the same features of the HTC.
