Also when buying a digital camera, it is important to look at how easily the photos can be off loaded to a computer for storage or sharing and how easy they are to print. Some digital cameras come with docking systems that easily transfer the digital images to the computer. The images can then be modified using special editing software, stored to the hard drive or CD-ROM and even emailed.

Before deciding what you need in a camera, you must first decide what you plan to do with the camera.  Are you going to want enlargements?  Do you plan to print or just email the pictures?  Are you going to take action photos?  Do you plan on using it for lots of long trips?  Are you going to take pictures of small items?  All of these questions make a difference on what type of camera to buy.  One of the top all around cameras that will last for years to come is the Canon EOS.  This camera has more features then you can imagine and video capacity.   The second best rated camera is the Nikon 5000.  This camera has great features too including  being able to take pictures at long range.  The third best is the Canon Powershot S90.  This camera offers everyday powerful shooting.  This takes images in all kinds of lighting.
