According to reviewers, the Canon A590ISdigital camera has the best blend of image quality, features andprice,with lots of manual controls to give you room to grow. The8-megapixelCanon camera takes excellent shots overall.The4x zoom lens includes optical image stabilization, which works toreduceblurry images caused by the natural movements of your hands.

Coming in 2nd and 3rd respectively is the Nikon CoolPIX and the Kodak Easy share camera

Best for what? Those are all good names in cameras. I'm a Nikon DSLR shooter, but Canon makes some nice point and shoot models. But really, if you don't have specific features in mind, I can't say any one is "best" compared to the others.
