It depends on where you are located at and the type of plan you are looking for and in the price range you want.
I have a plan with Cingular/ATT and they are a great service with a good plan.
Another company for a good plan is Verizon. I have a friend who has verizon and says they are the best with good plans.

When we were shopping around for a new cell phone plan, we found out that it really depends on your credit.  We have T-Mobile (I'd like to switch), but because we have been with them for 3 years we received a much better deal...the longer with the company, the better the deal.  We also checked at Verizon and NexTel.  They both wanted about $400.00 as a deposit for a new customer.
It also depends on what kind of plan you(r) family is in need of.  The different companies offer similar plans, but the number of minutes you receive, text messages...the companies have different prices for all of that.

I was interested in that also, wanting to lower my cell phone bills. There are some things you need to think about, how many lines do you need, are you texter? Do you text a lot, a little, How many minutes do you use your phone in a month? Are you going to use your phone for internet and email? Do you want prepaid or not prepaid. Check out the website Billshrink.com and they ask you these questions, then they will give you an answer on the plans that will suit your needs.

It really depends on what area you are in and what type of plans you are looking for. I just searched for a single line and no family plans and I found some that may of interest to you. The cheapest I found was T-mobile (which I have and love). Their plans start at $29.99 for 300 min. Sprint has the same price, but you only get 200 minutes with Sprint. For $39.99 (from T-mobile) you get 600 minutes and the closest that AT&T, Sprint, or Verizon minutes are only 450 for the $39.99 price.

If you can get T-mobile in your area I highly recommend them! I also included a link to T-mobile so you can check to see if it is available in your area.
