I really think you can get a good deal on airline tickets on a site like Expedia or Priceline. On Priceline, you can name your own price and see if they will match what you ask for, and on Expedia you can book your hotel, flight, and rental car as a package. It seems like a pretty convenient way to travel to me, far better than calling the airline. Save money where you can!
