Where is a good place online to find cheaper baby items such as bed sets for a crib?

I've had some success with Amazon, but it's off and on. Some items are really cheap and some are outrageous.

One place I've really gotten some great deals are the CSN stores, they have a couple different online storefronts, but the items are aggregated together here:

I like that they have free shipping. You really have to watch out for this. A TON of online baby supply stores really try to gouge you on the shipping. Also, with CSN, if you have bought something from them before, they will occasionally send a 20% off coupon, but the timing is not predictable. I found the lowest price for my crib from them and was able to use a 20% off coupon so it ended up being pretty inexpensive and is much sturdier than the more expensive cribs that were at Target.

I also use http://www.thefind.com a lot as there are some specialty baby items (like cloth diapers), that it can be hard to find the best price on.

You and also trade, buy or sell baby items with other parent at http://www.diaperswappers.com (just be sure to check their forum rules first.)

Also, you can sometimes find unique baby items on http://www.Etsy.com for pretty inexpensive prices.

Also, type "baby clothes" or "baby bedding" into http://www.fatwallet.com search. They often have good deals and coupons (sometimes Target coupons) available.

in fact, Wal-mart currently has 97c shipping on baby bedding and other select items and if you go to their site through fatwallet you can get 1% cashback.

Also, as far as bedsets go. We only bought sheets and mattress pads and used a swaddle or wearable sleep sack. Crib bumpers are not considered safe anymore, as they pose a suffocation risk - this will save you money too!

I would suggest Ebay or Craigslist.  If you want new items you could always check K-Mart or Walmart their prices are pretty reasonable. Hope this helps!
