Actually what my dad normally does is use his high powered pressure washer.  That normally cleans up any dirt and grime pretty quickly on the deck without the need for harsh chemicals.  However, there are some really good deck cleaners available.  I think the best would be the Thompson's Water Seal Heavy Duty Deck Cleaner which sells for $79.96 at the Do It Best store.  These are sold in packages of 4 one gallon containers.  Remove weathered finishes to reveal new looking wood with this ready-to-use cleaner. This removes weathered, clear and tinted waterproofers along with semi-transparent stains. Restores wood´s natural color and beauty. Removes dirt, mildew, algae, and fungus stains. 1 gallon plastic container cleans approximately 150 to 200 sq. ft. Do Not use in pressure washer or metal containers. Apply with brush or polypropylene deck sprayer. Do not thin.  Sears has the Olympic Deck Cleaner selling for $16.99 for a 2 gallon container.  This is fast and easy to use. No scrubbing. Premium S-74 deep cleaning formula. Penetrates deep and lifts dirt to the surface to rinse away. Cleans dirt and mildew stains. Ready to use, no mixing. Works in 5-10 minutes. Biodegradable. For use on decks, fences, siding, and more.

BoatLife Teak Brite Cleaner is a heavy-duty, 1-step powder cleaner for teak decks and trim. Designed to restore stained teak without sanding. Apply to wet teak and scrub with Boatlife's Scrub-All. I would also recommend the Heavy Duty Hull and Deck Cleaner, 32oz. Easily removes algae, grime, oil, fish blood, and dirt from fiberglass, metal, and painted surfaces. Also great on waterline stains. Longer reaching spray with the easy-to-use attachment system.
