There are lots of treats you can give your parakeet that they will enjoy and will help keep them healthy. Foods that are high in anti-oxidants are particularly good.
Avian Veterinarians suggest:
45% of their diet be made up of fresh broccoli, carrots, yams, spinach, dandelion greens, other green/orange fruits and veggies
You can also give them whole wheat bread and cooked beans and snacks made especially for parakeets.
