The liquid in the thermometer is mercury and that is not really something that you can or should replace yourself! I am not even sure if you can buy that over the counter to be honest! My best advice is for you to go buy a new thermometer. it is most likely cheaper and safer! Thank you for contacting imshopping and have a great week
