A really nice laptop for your 13-year-old is the Gateway LT2030u Netbook.  It's excellent because it is a light computing platform and it's affordably priced at $349.99.

You can get them for as low as $229.  We purchased our daughter one a few weeks ago and actually got it for $179.  The online price stated the $229 and when we went in to get it there was a $50 in store coupon.  So it is well worth it to check online and in the store, because you never know what kind of deals you can find.  If you are looking for a way to pay it out, they do also offer a layaway option.  20% down and you have until December 6th to get it out.  I hope the advice helped.

"Tween Agers" and what to get them seem to be on many parents minds this year! I've shopped for just about everything a young person in that age group would like for other IMshoppers and have come to the conclusion that there needs to be a category for this age group (12-14) as they are not yet teens and no longer children.
For your daughter, I've turned to some of the social networking sites to see which laptops girls in this age are asking for, and which ones they have and really like!
Since girls all have different tastes, I'll try to give you a few that may match different types of girls:
1. The Disney NetPal. This "Princess Pink" 5 star rated NetBook is perfect for any girl who needs a laptop, but who is still young enough to enjoy the Disney brand. This is an Asus brand computer-which are wonderful. (I made it through two degrees with one and not a single problem!)
