I think you have to use Pert Plus.. It's ok with kittens and is recommended by the vets.

You can use Dawn. It is safe but recommended to not use alot. Just a little bit goes a long way. As far as shampoo baby shampoo is definately better for an animal. Harsh adult shampoo can cause problems if it gets into their eyes.

Products developed for sensitive human skin types, including many baby soaps, can be used and will not harm a kitten.

There are specific cat shampoos, as human shampoos can be harsh and have a Ph level that's not right for the cat's fur. However, if your cat needs to be washed using a human shampoo won't hurt the cat, if you don't get it in their eyes; but may cause them to have dry skin. If you are trying to rid your cat of fleas and need a good home remedy that works, Dawn ultra (the blue one), works quite well. But just as before try not to get any in the cat's eyes. If you have to get the fleas off the cat's face use your fingers to clean around the cat's eyes, nose and mouth.

Johnson's Baby Shampoo works wonderful. It will not sting your kitten's eyes and leaves the coat soft and shiny. I used to raise Persian kittens and used it many times to bathe them.
