A good grinder needs to have
solid, fully adjustable toolrests and a smooth-running, quiet motor
with ample power to drive both coarse- and fine-grit wheels. Within our
group, the DeWalt best meets these basic requirements.
Craftsman would be a solid second since it has one 36-grit and one 60-grit wheel for grinding a wide variety of projects. Large, Cast Iron base reduces vibration and provides stability during use.
The Skil would be our low-cost choice--especially for preparing woodworking tools for honing and general occasional work.
