att and t-mobile. You can also get phones from MVNOs - there are many of them but most are CDMA!

In the United States, the two major players in the cellular arena that use phones with SIM cards are T-Mobile and AT&T (formerly Cingular Wireless). SIM card phones are great because you can easily switch from one device to another. I have a friend who is involved in his son's boyscout troop and uses an expensive Blackberry for work. He can easily switch his SIM card to a less expensive flip phone so that he does not risk losing the Blackberry. When purchasing a cell phone, you can either go with a subsidized phone from the carrier (at a lower price) or buy one with no contract, which will be at a higher price. Below you will find a couple of options for both AT&T and T-Mobile.
