What are the opinions and reviews on the Motorola w259? Are there any deals or discounts?

Right now Consumer Cellular has the Motorola w259 for free after instant rebate, applied at time of purchase. Requires $35.00 activation fee. Phones are limited to stock on hand and may not be available in all areas. 

As for reviews or opinions, I checked out a w259 user forum! Looks like an issue is with charging the phone!
" have a motorola usb cable and have tried 2 different pc's and back and front ports. The phone gets reconized and starts to charge but never asks me to connect as a storage device."  

"When I drill down to W259 USB & PC Charging Driver on the support website, I find USB Driver V 3.7.0 (32 bit) that I can download and install but when I connect my phone to the USB port, the MS routine wants to install a driver."



Other then the pc/charging issue, the other reviews seem good! Consumer Cellular has excellent customer service and support, They help with everything! But again, the phone seems good, alot of revies say thay are glad they went to that service and phone that the clarity and phone it self is great!

If you are looking for a basic cell phone for occasional use, check out the Motorola W259. It's simple. It's affordable (Free is a very attractive price!). And it's a Motorola, so you know it's good quality. The W259 has plenty of memory - enough room for all your phone numbers. And a speakerphone to share your conversation or keep your hands free. A great choice for a basic phone. It however, doesn't have a built in camera - but most camera's in phones have bad picture quality anyways.
