I really liked the plastic evenflo tinted bottles (they were bpa free) but my first choice really was the ventair narrow, the only reason I didn't keep using them is, that was before all the bottles switched to bpa free. Mine were not bpa free. (However now they have bpa free ventair narrow) I tried nearly every brand out there for my son. I was surprised to see that the straight bottles, even the cheaper ones (evenflo) worked very well for NOT allowing my son to swallow the air. He never got gassy, or spit up to much. And he latched very well to the nipple, so it was number 1 for me. :) Goodluck!
I have went through many brands of baby bottles with my 17 month old, and know how frustrating and costly it can be to find the right one. With all the questions about plastics leaking toxins into the milk, especially if it is warmed, the best baby bottles in my opinion are the glass ones.
The bottles that ended up working out best for me and my little one are the Evenflo Glass Bottles and the newer Munchkin Mighty Grip Glass Bottles. Both brands sell 4oz and 8oz versions of their bottles. Once your baby is old enough to hold their own bottle, both these brands also sell protective sleeves for the bottles, which work out great to prevent breakage. You can buy the Evenflo's in 3 packs with the protective sleeves already included. I opted for these two brands because they are the best bang for your buck, they are so much cheaper than the other glass options, and worked out just as well for me.
If you decide to go plastic, make sure it is BPA and PVC free. The main advantage to plastic is that it is lighter weight - but they don't have the lasting power that the glass bottles do especially if you are using the dishwasher to wash them.

I personally will only use glass bottles. Even the BPA free bottles are still made of plastic, which contains who knows what toxic stuff they will tell us about next year. If you're worried about them breaking, don't be. There are also rubber sleeves that wrap around several brands to give baby a better grip.

Choosing a baby bottle is very important. Depending on the needs of your baby should determine which bottle to use. I have 4 children and I used different bottles with all 4 of them. My 5 month old had colic and has acid reflux so I use Dr. Brown bottles. My 3 year old loved the Platex Drop In bottles. Here are some suggestions. But like I said, it all depends on your babies needs to determine which bottle is perfect for your little bundle of joy. I hope this helps!

I have personally found playtex bottles to be the best They are very nice and help prevent colic. I had several family members recomment these bottles as well as my doctor.
Be wary of the Avent bottles the LEAK of the lid isnt on just right. If its on to tight or too lose it will leak.
with palytex there are basically three types
the playtex Drop ins
Playtex - Premium Decorated Nurser Bottle Gift Set, BPA Free
Playtex Drop-Ins System features pre-sterilized, disposable liners keep air out for more comfortable feeding. In a clinical study, 8 out of 10 mothers indicated that their babies showed fewer signs of gas, colic, and other feeding discomforts. Baby sucks and swallows is a coordinated rhythm that is similar to how they feed from the breast. Baby breathes more naturally and baby can control the flow of milk, so he/she takes in just the right amount.
Playtex - VentAire Standard Bottle Newborn Gift Set
The Playtex VentAire Advanced standard bottle system is 100% BPA- and Phthalate-free. It is clinically shown to reduce gas, colic and spit up. The angled shape helps minimize ear infections.
Playtex - Set of 3 Crystal Clear Wide-Neck Bottles
The Playtex VentAire Advanced Crystal Clear standard bottle system is 100% BPA- and Phthalate-free. It is clinically shown to reduce gas, colic and spit up. The angled shape helps minimize ear infections. Set includes three bottles.

I have used Playtex bottles for all three of my kids. Back when I used them, they had the plastic pouches that you would fit over the bottle and then push to let the air out. Now, they have many different varieties for every need. For instance, they now have those drop ins. These are great. They come in the shape of the bottle, and all you do is drop them in the bottle and pour your liquid. Toss out when done. Also, if you have a baby with colic, the Playtex Ventaire bottles will help. Not to mention they are great for reducing ear infections, gas and spit up.
