My personal favorite brand is SanDisk. It is a trusted brand and usually available at most stores.
According to http://www.techgage.com, after running a performance test using a Nikon D80 camera, the SanDisk 1GB 133x card and the Transcend 2GB 150x card were by far the top performers in terms of frames per second and also in transferring images to a PC. The Ritek 4GB 150x card followed closely behind.
In terms of value, the Ritek card ranked higher for performance per $1, followed by Transcend, then SanDisk. The Ritek card, however, is a large capacity SDHC card, so if you are looking for a smaller capacity card, then the Transcend 2GB 150x is a deal.
