We have been shopping for a stainless steel french door refrigerator approximately 25 cubic feet. One place told us GE was the best. Another told us Samsung and a third told us Maytag. Needless to say, we are so confused. What is the best of this trio? Or is an Electrolux worth the money?

Shopping for appliances is so confusing sometimes, especially if you care about quality (which most of us do, haha).  Most of the research I've done leads me to believe that Samsung has been the most appreciated by customers over the years.  http://www.Consumersearch.com reports that the samsung brand has been the highest rated brand among consumers for the last four years.  Another great thing about this brand is that they are often packed with features that are heavily appreciated by users, such as external temperature readouts and controls.

As for GE and Maytag, reviews seem to be a mixed bag of both the bad and the good.

Electrolux has pretty good reviews as well, however they're not much better than those of Samsung.  They do have a bunch more fancy features though.  So if the features intrigue you, it might be worth the money.

Overall it just depends on what you're looking for in a refridgerator.  Hope you find it!

The best way to narrow you search down is to take a look at the reviews. Don't worry, I will do it for you, so you won't be confused for too much longer. It is very important to get a refrigerator that is Energy Star Efficient so that you can save money in the long run. GE Profile PFSS6PKXSS 25.5 cubic feet french door refrigerator has an average rating of 3.5 out of 5 stars. Consumers complain that it is not genuine stainless steel and this is something to really worry about, when it comes to quality. It was tough finding reviews for a Samsung 25 cubic feet refrigerator but one positive thing that came up is the fact that it is Energy Star efficient. It gets 4 stars because consumers say that the refrigerator is great overall but the ice maker works very poorly. Maytag does not do too well on the reviews. Consumers give the Maytag MFI2568AES Stainless Steel (25 cu. ft.) Bottom Freezer French Door Refrigerator 2.5 out of 5 stars. One of the main complaints is that the stainless steel is tough to keep clean. I would go for the Samsung because their products are great and that gets the best reviews.

French-door refrigerators are a fairly recent design twist, combining side-by-side refrigerator doors (French doors) atop a single pull-out freezer drawer

For the fourth year in a row, Samsung French-door refrigerators are the highest rated for customer satisfaction in a large-scale survey of appliance owners conducted by J.D. Power and Associates. With everyone going green, the 26-cubic-foot Samsung RF266ABWP  performs very well in tests and is recommended by http://www.PlanetGreen.com as an eco-friendly choice for large families

From what I have found this seems to be the top pick from consumers.

Here is a review of the GE model:
The GE PFSF5NJWBB GE Profile 25.1 Cu. Ft. French Door Bottom-Freezer:
This particular model was one of the strongest standouts among the consumers we surveyed.

Here's a few of the things that we really liked about this model:

  • This refrigerator has High-Gloss, Contoured Doors with Sculptured Handles and Top and Bottom Bevels. The bevels add a dramatic look and touch of personal style to any kitchen.
  • The External Water Dispenser with TurboCool™ Setting provides chilled, filtered water any time. It also displays the actual internal temperature of the refrigerator!
  • The Freshness Center™ utilizes two humidity-controlled drawers and 1 full-length drawer for large storage which is extremely convenient.
  • Lastly, the BrightSpace™ Interior with GE Reveal™ Lighting manages to cast a natural-looking glow throughout the refrigerator; even in the freezer!
  • Almost forgot, make sure you look for the three fold basket organization system in the freezer which helps keeps all its contents organized and within easy reach.
