What kind of phone has a battery with a long life?

One aspect that most consumers don't always consider when buying a cell phone is its battery life. This is probably one of the most important features of a cell phone, because all the bells and whistles of a fancy phone won't matter if the battery runs out.
Cell phone manufacturers often provide you with a phone's rated talk time, which is a good benchmark to go by, but it's sometimes not too accurate. Here at CNET, they  perform battery-life tests of their own to figure out the true talk time of a phone.
One of the longest-lasting phones they tried is the Motorola V180, a basic phone with an impressive 9 hours of talk time. Another winner is the Sony Ericsson P910a, a fancy smart phone with an equally great talk time of 9 hours on a single charge. While the Motorola Rokr E1 didn't win any points in design.but 9 hours of battery life. Finally, there's the LG F7200, Cingular's latest PTT phone, also with a great 9 hours of talk time.
