Maytag makes an affordable glass-ceramic cooktop that features 9" and 6" dual elements and element-in-use and hot-surface indicator lights. If you are interested in something that is in the least expensive category you could try the Summit EL05 30" Electric Cooktop which features actual coils. If you are interested in a top of the line cooktop you can look at the Jenn-Air: JED8430BDB 30'' Downdraft Electric Cooktop with Downdraft Ventilation. This cooktop has a pop-up ventilation fan knob which stays hidden until needed.
