I know that Linksys, Netgear, Engenius, and Belkin are good brands of routers. In fact, I found a Netgear DGN2000 Wireless-N 300 Router with Built -in DSL Modem. It caught my eye not only because you can use it with an iPod Touch, but it has a built in DSL modem. Talk about multitasking and saving money! Here is a little more about it:
Surf, make Internet phone calls, play online games and Stream HD Video simultaneously. Replace your old DSL equipment with new Netgear Wireless-N DGN2000 router. Push 'N' Connect securely connects at the touch of a button. It is compatible with NETGEAR and other Wireless-G and Wireless-N adapters.

The genius thing about the Ipod touch is that you do not need a wireless router when you are out and about. If you are looking for a wireless router for your home when you are using the Itouch then I would suggest a Linksys.
The Linksys Wireless-G broadband router is really three devices in one box. First, it's a wireless access point, which lets you connect Wireless-G or Wireless-B devices to the network. There's also a built-in four-port full-duplex 10/100 switch to connect your wired-Ethernet devices. Connect four PCs directly, or daisy-chain out to more hubs and switches to create as big a network as you need. Finally, the router function ties it all together and lets your whole network share a high-speed cable or DSL Internet connection. To protect your data and privacy, the Wireless-G broadband router can encrypt all wireless transmissions, and it supports the industrial-strength wireless security of 802.1x authentication and authorization.
