I'm in need of new speakers for my pc and was wondering what do you think is the best 2.0 speakers out there? I'm looking at Bose companion 2 speakers but I've tried a few other speakers (under $50.00) but they just sound too cheap.

I've not had any experiences with the Bose Companion 2, but Bose does have a good reputation. (And a LOT of radio ads!) I personally have a set of Logitech 2.0 speakers and they work well for me. The current version of them are the Logitech 970155-0403 V20 Notebook Speakers, however I use them with my desktop. They come with a carrying case to store them in if you do travel with your speakers. The Logitech X-140 2.0 desktop speakers are also a good choice. Sound quality should be comparable between the two. Most higher end speakers will be in a 2.1 configuration as the subwoofer can make quite a bit of differance in sound quality. If you find 2.0 speakers to sound cheap then you may want to look at the Logitech Z-4 2.1 Speaker System with Subwoofer. The Z-4 speakers have 40 watts total RMS power from the pressure-driver subwoofer. Speakers include an input for MP3 players, CD players or other portable audio devices on the wired remote.
