Personally I love Alienware laptops but you will pay the price if you purchase one. When you build it out, you can pick your pleasures. I am currently on a Dell and have had it for the last 4 years. I think that is about ancient when it comes to any computer but for a laptop, it is downright miraculous. So I can recommend the Dell. Plus they have lots of great deals all the time.

There should not be any noticeable weight difference if you upgrade your hard drive. I tend to try to stay true to name brand hardware because of the technical support aspect.

I am not sure if you are asking about laptops or hard drive recommendations. So I will list both items.

Hi, and welcome to IMshopping! Buying a different hard drive will not affect the weight of your computer, because they are all the same size. As for the type of hard drives, there are several types that do their job, but I prefer Hitachi TravelStar. This is because these are almost indestructable in the case that your computer gets dropped. This is perfect for someone who has children, like myself or for the individual who wants to ensure that their computer is going to continue to run smooth.

Now if you are looking to purchase a solid state hard drive, those tend to be slightly lighter than your traditional 2.5 inch. This is because they are made with less materials than your average hard drives that you find in most computers. I am going to send you some hard drives that you might like to check out. Thank you for choosing IMshopping!
