I want to buy an LCD TV. Are there ANY LCD tv's that you can set up to require a password in order to use the TV? I'm NOT talking about the parental controls or V-Chip. I have untrusty roommates that I don't want using my TV so I want to lock it with a password. Do ANY LCD TV's (or plasma? Or even HD? Or.. ANY TV's in general) have this option??

I don't know about other brands, but the Panasonic LCDs and Plasma TVs have a password protected "LOCK" setting that can be set to lock out certain channels, or lock out all the inputs so that they have to enter a password to view them.  It would take awhile to set it up but with any TV that allows for a child password lock you can set it up to do every single channel if that is what it takes.

Locking out the entire system from even turning on though is not possible unless you just put it in a locked room that only you have the key too.

Actually I should probabaly also add to my question that we do not have any TV service at all. I just watch movies (DVD) on  tv. The untrusty roommates however, like to play X-Box, and I don't want them being able to use the tv to play X-Box. So there really are no TV's I can lock from even general use? Crud. Guess I won't be buying one any time soon, then. That really sucks! They ought to make TV's you can lock with a passcode!

Unfortunately , the only locks or passwords on televisions is the parental controls.  If you have dish network, direct tv, or a cable box, they have password locks!  If not, your best bet is to go with parental controls, and enable it when you are not home, and disable it when you are!
