I really need a nice affordable blu-ray player to go with my brand spanking new 52" HDTV. Make it really good.

Sony makes excellent Blu ray players that are very affordable. The current model is a BDPS370 which retails around $170. There are some older BDPS360's around for even less. Check this out:

You will likely need an HDMI wire as well.
The PS3 system is a great invest for use as a bluray player and a game system. Recently there was an article posted on yahoo stating that the PS3 gaming system had the best bluray player on the market in both quality and cost.
