I need to make a gift basket for a babyshower. Can you suggest things to put in it? I have a budget of $50.

Walmart carries a sm basket w/handles that looks like a laundry basket. Great to fill. The dollar tree has sm. warm fleece-type blankets and much more. Wipes are low cost as are rattles, etc.

This is a really cute site to look at and has lots of ideas.  They also have lots of great personalized baby gifts too.  They even have neat videos for planning a baby shower.  All in all if you have:

-diaper
-bottle
-baby lotion
-a comfy blanket
-soft toys
-onesies ( I actually have a friend who embroiders so that's an idea too as far as personalizing onesies)

Putting together a basket is a wonderful idea. You can get many little goodies from your local dollar store. Start by picking a color theme and run with it.  I would go with a soft yellow because it is good for boys and girls.  You can fill the basket with baby rattles, a stuffed animal, and bibs. Add a small picture frame for baby's first picture. Instead of using paper to give your basket a full look, I would put in dippers for new borns. Trust me new moms and dad can never get enough diapers.

When I had my baby shower, I was so delighted and pleased of the basket I received. There were diapers, diaper plastic bag, newborn lotion, shampoo, body wash, powder,  baby oil, rash ointment, onesies, baby gloves, hat, and a pair of shoes. The lady gather all this one at a time, even branded but were on sale. These was really a great surprise for me.  

YOu can pick baby needs and pack them. Add a flying baloon with it. and send a gift basket for a baby. baby will play with ballon and mom will use the products for her baby.
