Since it is your 16th wedding anniversary, I thought I would stick with tradition and follow the recommended gift of silver. Since you say she is very practical then perhaps she would enjoy a beautiful silver frame to breath new style into your wedding portrait.Another suggestion is a very low tech device but she may enjoy an iPod. She can not only listen to music but download podcasts from iTunes on everything from cooking, parenting and television shows.If she loves to cook and you enjoy her efforts then I would look at her appliances and see what she is sorely lacking and has dreamed of owning. It may be a capacchino machine (saves money making it at home) or a mixer that kneads bread dough too.Or you may want to simply treat her to a day of leisure. You can cook, clean, give her remote control and just let her have a day of relaxation. Actually I think that is what I want but I am sure all women secretly dream of it too.

Congratulations! Every anniversary should be a celebration. If I knew the number of years, then I could suggest a gift based on the tradition.
