Lonely Planet offers great guidebooks. They are one of the biggest guidebook makers and they are aimed at backpackers and travelers on a budget.
For Belize alone, they have an online info pages on the whole country, northern Belize, southern Belize, western Belize, and places to go once you're there. They have a book specifically for diving and snorkeling in Belize, too!
