Happy 26th Anniversary to your in laws! Staying together for 26 years of marriage is not something that happens to often anymore and I think it's great that they are doing it!
If you can find a picture from their wedding a good gift would be to get a picture frame engraved with their wedding date on it, and put the their wedding picture in it. Another gift is a sign that they could hang up in their house that says something nice like, "all because two people fell in love." You could also get them a gift certificate to their favorite restaurant and tell them that dinner is on you!
