I know this may be a silly question to some.Are dishwasher trays generic? Can any one fit into the dishwasher no matter what the brand? What stores carry them?

It's not a silly question at all! When my fiance and I moved we had the issue that the dishwasher in the apartment had an old rack that was peeling. I was worried that the rust forming would either hurt us or the dishes so I went to order a new one. They are not generic by any means. The good news is that many appliance stores do carry them.

You are going to need to have the make and model number (usually on the inside of the dishwasher around the seal) of your dishwasher but other than that it shouldn't be hard at all to find what you need. They are a little pricey though so look to spend around $40 or so if not a bit more depending on the brand.
