I just bought my king size mattress and boxsprint. To set up the mattress do i really need a bed frame or can?

You can put your box spring and mattress right on the floor if you want to. The frame raises the bed to a comfortable sitting height and makesit easier to move it to a different location. You don't need the frame but the box spring is a must in order for your mattress to perform correctly.
