I heard about new running shoes that Nike makes, they are more like socks. Where can I find them? Are they worth buying?

Here are some five finger shoes for workouts. They are not nike, but similar to what I think your looking for. I personally have not bought them but I may be trying some out soon after seeing this informational video:

Are you thinking of the Nike Zesti shoes? They feature a seamless fabric "boot" with a rubber bottom sole.  They were designed for our beach volleyball athletes for the 2008 Olympics.  It appears that they are not available for purchase.

They are the Nike Free running shoes that promise a feeling of running in bare feet.   The Nike Free is "engineered to provide just enough support while still allowing the footto move in a natural, dynamic and barefoot-like manner. The soft,ultra-smooth microfiber overlays—created using a unique technique tominimize stitching—also maximizes comfort."


They offer several styles for the novice runner to the advanced runner. Barefoot running really does help improve foot strength andflexibility, but it carries a high risk of injury.  The Nike Free offers the next best thing to running barefoot.

They are priced pretty fair, especially for a quality running shoe (I've paid $90 for my running sneaks).  If you are a runner looking to gain an edge, I would say go for it and buy a pair!
