I have a laptop but it only has usb ports but not a memory card reader so im looking for a cheap reader. I been looking around but most of them don't say if they work with windows 7

You are right about a lot of memory readers' information not stating whether they are Windows 7 compatible.  However, some may say 'Windows XP, Vista, higher' which I guess means Windows 7 compatible as well.
