Depending on the features your laptop has will determine on how to hook it up to your television. I know my laptop has two options.
  1. I have an HDMI output which is a very common high definition output and your television will definately have at least one HDMI port.
  2. The next  option is a VGA output. This is very common in laptops and your televsion should have one too. The VGA output is a rectangular conectoe with three rows of small holes. It is what older computer monitors used.
There might even be S-Video output on your laptop. S-VAttached product photo 23545074Attached product photo 23545086ideo connector looks like a circle with small holes in the center.

You will need a cable that correspondes to the connection yoiu choose to use.Attached product photo 23545064

Well it really depends on what tv you have and what Toshiba laptop you have.
Many HDTVs and PCs are able to connect to each other using an SVGA cable (30-60$). When purchasing this cable make sure both sides are male to go into the female TV and PC port.
You must also purchase a 3.5mm double input audio cable. Both sides should also be male/male. This looks just like a head phone jack. Once you have purchased your SVGA cable and audio cable, the next steps are really simple.
Connect one side of the cable into the computer. This is similar to a regular monitor connection. Make sure you twist the screws on each side of the cable to ensure ultimate picture quality.
Repeat the above step with the other side of the cable and attach it to the TV.
Now attach the audio cable: one side into your computer and the other side into your TV input slot. This should be next to or underneath your SVGA input.
Using your TV remote choose the correct input option. This may be labeled PC or SVGA. You are all set.
