Trust me, it will be amazing how much a small switch like that will be to your computer, especially internet wise! I had the 256mb with dsl, I swesr sometimes it was like I had dial up instead, when I made the switch, it actually felt like I was using high speed internet! Amazon has a Kingston 1gb card selling for $52.74
