For ear buds, http://www.epinions.com suggests Koss KSC75 Consumer Headphones. You can get them brand new on eBay for $17.99 with free shipping. They come with a lifetime warranty, too, so replacement parts are super cheap.

For headphones, I'd recommend the Sennheiser HD 20(pictured). http://www.BHPhotoVideo.com has them for$18.59 and they look super comfortable.
