The Sidekick is a highly purchased cell phone made and market by T-Mobile. The Sidekick 3 has the best overall rating in the group and takes 2nd place as the best cell phone for texting (-compared with other phones from all carriers).
For an unlocked Sidekick, the best bet is more than likely going to be on eBay where you can bid or use a "Buy it Now" option to obtain one. Always check the seller's feedback and rating, to ensure they are legitimate.
If you are not fond of eBay, the best site for Unlocked Sidekicks is Best Cellz. Here they offer an array of Sidekicks for $79.95. If you buy 2 or more, then they take an additional $5.00 off the price!
Purchasing a Used Sidekick seems like the cheaper of the two options. For instance, look at Best Cellz again. Here you can purchase a used Sidekick Color with no contract for about $109.00. This comes with an optional extended 1 year or more warranty, starting at $15.00.
I might also recommend trying a refurbished sidekick. These are also fairly inexpensive, and at least you know that whatever made them quit working, has now been fixed. Often they come with warranties as well. Check out Zoom Wireless Online or Save Money Cellular. They have great selections!
