he first places I would try are Target and Amazon. They have great brand names at great prices...and GPS's are so easy to find now days. If you have a membership to Costco or Sam's Club I would also check them out as well. They may have a great deal...and I sometimes find coupons in their monthly mailers. Here are some great choices from Target. 
Garmin Nuvi 200W GPS System - This system is on sale right now at Target for $129 and it has free shipping. It is one of the top rated GPS systems and on Target's website they have 4 1/2 stars on a rating scale.
TomTom One 140 GPS Unit (Burgundy) - This unit is also availalbe at Target for $129 with free shipping. It is Burgandy but it is a great price and also has great reviews.
TomTom ONE XL 4.3-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator with Maps of the U.S. and Canada (Factory Refurbished) - This one is available on Amazon.com. It is offered at $99 which is a great price. The reason why is b/c it is a factory refurbished product.
Garmin nüvi 205W 4.3-Inch Widescreen Portable GPS Navigator - This one is available on Amazon.com as well. They are selling it for $139. You could also buy a used one starting at $118 if you wanted. Great little device.

Road trips are great fun! Been on a few myself! Now with the new technology it makes it a lot easier! I've used the Magellan & currently have the Tomtom and both are very easy to use right out of the box! My suggestion is to get it right away and use before going on trip. Plug in destinations and let it take you there. So you can adjust volume control & see what the screen is telling you. So learn how to use it before hitting the road. Enjoy! ; ) Tomtom ONE130 GPS
