I have done my own fake nails for almost a year now, and you want to use the glue that they sell at a beauty store.  I try to always purchase the glue closest to the stuff that the nail salon uses to do nails.  Just a tip, do not use super glue, it does not work and your nails will fall off within a couple of hours.  Also, the glue that you have to brush on doesn't work very well either.

My advice would be to go get nails done professionally.  Often times, if the nail is not filed correctly with store bought nails, your fingernails can develop a fungus because of the bacteria.  If you are set on store bought nails, make sure you wash your nails really good with an antibacterial soap and file your nails.  Most kits come with nail glue.  In my experience, there are no brands better than the rest.
