You need to understand how both work before it can be determined which is better. I used to always think that it didn't matter what core processor to use but it does matter. In aaa  singlesinglesingle-corecorecore or traditional processorprocessorprocessorthe CPU is fed strings of instructions it must order, execute, thenselectively store in its cache for quick retrieval. When data outside the cache is required, it is retrieved through the system bus from random access memory (RAM) or from other storage devices. Accessing these data slows down your computer  performance to the maximum speed that the bus, RAM or storage device will allow, which is much slower than the speed of the CPU. On the other hand in a dual core processor each core will handle incoming data strings simultaneously so that efficiency can be improved. Just as two heads are better than one, so are two dual cores for the processor . When one is executing, the other can be accessing the system bus or executing its own code. To utilize a dual core processor, the operating system must be able to recognize multi-threading and the software must have simultaneous multi-threading technology (SMT) written into its code.SMT enables parallel multi-threading wherein the cores areserved multi-threaded instructions in parallel. Without SMT thesoftware will only recognize one core.  Now that we have established the difference between the two, it is evident that the dual core processor is better because you won't have to get a new motherboard and will be much faster for your system. A dual-core allows your computer to spread out work over two separate cores and this allows you to do more work at the same time especially if you love to multi-task. This makes it perfect for people who love to design and play games. Having a dual core processor is way better.
