Sounds like someone else is watching home improvement shows this Sunday morning!
I just saw the commercial on television for that very product. It all sounded good until they showed the grass growing on top of concrete blocks without any other soil...then I just had to wonder, too.
Here's their claim:
"The PATCH PERFECT growing secret is its powerful fertilizer mulchcocoon, that surrounds each seed, soaking up and retaining water. It’slike each seed has its own eco system, for faster, healthiergermination. Remember, for each supply you order—we’ll send a secondsupply absolutely free. That’s enough to cover 100 square feet, at a50% savings!" Well, as I found out, the reviews are TERRIBLE on this product. Plus, it's way more expensive than just regular grass seed, which I know from experience works just fine.
Jack from NY writes about Patch Perfect:
Patch Perfect came in 2 large containers, I reviewed the infomercialand directions on back of container. Both do not coinside for theamount that is to be applied. 2 months later and have seen some growth, but not like it shows and NOT on any surface that does not have goodsoil that you till. Bagged, local grass seed was better. unsatisfied from CA writes about patch perfect:
This stuff comes no where near covering 100sqft as promised with thedouble amount of seed you get when you order. It says to spread it 1/4inch thick. If you follow these direction it will take care of 4 largepet spots no where near 100sqft is size. Don't buy it!!
Mrs. Hall from TX writes about Patch Perfect:
I sprinkled this product in the backyard on bare dirt and it does not work.
Customer after customer said the same thing.
Plus, it's expensive. $19.99 for grass seed enough to cover a measly 100 square feet? You can reseed your whole yard for much less than that. and despite this commercial's claims, grass seed is very easy to grow. You sprinkle it, cover it with hay and keep it watered. In a few days you'll have grass and before long, you'll be complaining about mowing that grass!
After reading these reviews, I've concluded for myself, this is one as seen on TV that doesn't seem to be worth the money.
