The contour abs belt will 'work' in the sense that it will work your abs, like any other ab belt, but it will NOT make you lose weight, or make inches of fat magically vanish from your waistline.

You need to exercise if you are overweight, and eat properly, and then you will see proper results with an ab belt.

The contour abs belt isn't really very good, the quality is poor and its not good value for money. I had one and when it broke got a flexbelt, which seems much better. General reviews online are pretty poor, its not as good as it looks in the tv infomercials.

Theres also a good comparison of the flex belt vs contour abs here. Another good review site is the ab belt review.

Hope that helps - don't make the same mistake i did and try to cheap out with the contour abs belt! :)

There's an old saying about exercise...no pain, no gain. And that's pretty much the same for the Contour Ab Belt.

The makers of the Contour Ab Belt claim that if you strap one of these girdle-like devices, which will cost you a cool $200, by the way, around your waist, it has a device inside that will cause your stomach muscles to contract repeatedly, giving you a core workout without the actual workout.

Who wouldn't want to get a nice flat stomach like they show on the commercials?

Thing is, those stomachs don't come from strapping on a device. Even the makers of the Contour Ab Belt give a suggested exercise and diet program that allows just 1,400 calories for women and 1,800 a day for men.

If you're cutting back that much food, you're going to lose some weight anyway.

While there are some people who say they like the way the Contour Ab Belt works, the only real way to whittle down that stomach is to eat less and do real exercise more -- and that's the word from all true exercise professionals.

For what you're spending on the Ab Belt, you can join a local gym and work out there, and more than likely get much better results.
