The Star of David is (and has been, especially since the Holocaust) a symbol to represent those of Jewish Faith. This very symbolic star has roots stemming from the Shield of David is a generally recognized symbol of Jewish identity and Judaism It acquires its named after King David of Ancient Israel; and its earliest known communal usage began in the Middle Ages, alongside the more ancient symbol of the menorah. Geometrically it is the hexagram.
With the establishment of the state of Israel in 1948 the Star of David, on the Flag of Israel, has also become a symbol of the country and has become associated with the Zionist Movement.
Having this star as a tree topper is a great idea and I've added several for you to chose from! (Etsy offered several.)
