When I have a cough, I usually go for a cough drop. I buy either Halls or Ricola. Both work well for my cough. When my cough gets worse, I usually get a cough syrup. For me my cough is worse at night, so I do use Nyquil or even other Vick's medicines. They do have these in store brand formulas too. This saves you a penny or two. Now if the cough gets worse then it's time to go see a doctor. You could have pnemonia. I hope this helps you out. Thank you for your question.
