if it's a GSM phone (cingular or tmobile), you can buy a phone through this website, http://www.myworldphone.com , i'm pretty sure all the phones they sell are unlocked but double check if you decide to buy from there.

you can even go to your company store and buy a phone there. they will just charge you retail price without a contract.

and of course ebay.

i dont know if you're looking for a new phone or a used phone. if you want a used phone u can go to http://www.craigslist.org.

honestly, if you're looking for a new one, go to the store directly, unless you want something from overseas, then go to that website i told you about. if you want used, craigslist or ebay.

I got two phones free, 1000 minutes and 100 texts for less than I was paying Verizon for one phone. My bill is cheaper each month, we both have phones and I have good service. What else can I say. Verizon called me twice wanting to know what they could do to get my business back. I told them to get competetive and told them what I was getting for cheaper and then I hung up. With Consumer cellular I get: 1000 mins and 100 texts plus two free phones for around 56.00 +- a few cents. Verizon: One phone I had to sign my life over for two more years to get a discount on a phone, one line with 450 mins and in calling. NO texts. Averaged to 58.17 a month. What else can I say. If you don't like Consumer Cellular service, you can cancel it in thirty minutes. It is great for my wife and me is all I can say. Been trying to get the kids to swap over but they are as reluctant as everyone else. Besides, who listens to their parents. I am not your parent, I don't think, so go change to Consumer Cellular for savings. Paul in Mcminnville, TN It works in New York City and Washington DC as well as all over the place.
