Hi, I'm not quite sure what type of CD player you want but I'm going to assume portable one.  Portable CD players don't really vary much nowadays.   The only thing would want to look at are whether or not the CD player plays mp3 CDs and how good the anti-shock time is.  Other than that, there's not really much to recommend in terms of portable CD players.  If you are talking about a CD player for like a boombox then it would depend on how big of a system you would want and your price range.  Anyways for portable CD players there really isn't much difference. Some offer a built-in FM tuner, CD mp3 capability, and a car adapter so you can play it in your car.  I would recommend that you get  Sony D-NF340 because it has all the aforementioned benefits.  It has 40 FM presets, plays CD-R/RW and mp3 CDs with one line visible on the LCD for the artist and title and has skip free G (a very high quality antishock protection).  However if you are looking for a portable device that's easy to use and is on the go (great for workouts and such) I would recommend you the SanDisk Sansa mp3 player that has a built-in fm tuner and the capability to hold hundreds of songs. The Sansa Clip is also ideal because there are no moving so parts so you wouldn't have to worry about it dropping and skipping or even breaking easily.  It's been tested by one of my crazy friends that the Sansa Clip will still work after being run over a car.  Try to find a portable CD player that will do that!
