Generally pyrex mixing bowls are oven proof. It is constructed so that it can be durable and is safe for use in the oven, microwave, freezer, and even dishwasher.The Pyrex company has designed these bowls to with stand heat and cold. They can last for a very long time with proper care and use. I have placed my pyrex bowls into the ovenr without even considering if they could be used in it and they are still going strong. The only thing that can destroy your pyrex is putting cold liquid in it while still hot.
