Great question, glad you asked!
In short, YES! You can… Lucky for you that my husband happen to work for AT&T and he said that you could. But does not recommend it. The reason been, it would not be economically beneficial for you. Depending on what plan you are on it can be very costly. But try this link http://koreacrunch.com/archive/iphone-3g-price-comparision" target="_blank">http://koreacrunch.com/archive/iphone-3g-price-comparision , I think this will help with current rates. I hope I was able to answer your question. Good Luck!

Are you texting to anyone in South Korea? AT&T has roaming agreements in more than 190 countries through out the world. Its triband and quadband phones will work in most parts of the world, except in Japan and South Korea. You will need a special phone that either supports CDMA or uses the 3G standard UMTS in the2100 MHz frequency band.
- Sony Ericsson, Nokia, and a few other phone manufacturers now offer multi-band GSM phones that also include support for UMTS 2100.
- I have also listed some Iphones that have GSM for you. You can use these to sent text messages to anywhere in Korea.
