Can anyone help me figure out what kind of bug I found in my sink?(No pics..I'm sorry)?

With out a picture or description I have no way to help you identify the bug. I did find some really great books that could help you identify this, or most any, bug. These have full color photos and are easy to use. They are also inexpensive at under $20. Good luck IDing your mystery bug!

This is a drain fly. Drain flies are small. They are usually black or brown. Their identifying trait is the unique pattern of veins in its wings.
Springtails could be another bug that comes into sinks. There are about 700 springtail species in North America. Some have wings and some just crawl or climb. They are very small. They can move very fast.
It could also be a beetle. All are harmless but very creepy.
