You can actually find some pretty decent deals for $130 or less!
Try Musicians Friend. They are one of my first stops when I am shopping for Guitars of ANY type and supplies. They offer competitive and matching pricing, realistic reviews and free shipping on most major purchases. I'm going to add some of their products to the page so you can see!
Other sites I really like are Guitar Files. Here they too will price match and let you shop by price, making it easier to find the best Bass quickly. See a few I added to get an idea.
Play Music 123. Has frequent sales and also allows for quick narrowing of products and offers accessories to compliment any style. PS- you can get an entire Bass package for only $149.99 with $7 shipping if you can wrangle up another $20.00.
Finally, this may sound odd, but you may want to look at Overstock. They offer flat shipping on all orders of $2.95, and actually carry several Bass guitars including Fender's for $169 (refurbished). I have added a picture of one Bass that will lead you to see others from them. If you are just starting out, this may be the way to go!
