1. has any one out there have any experience with harbor freights midi lathe, as far as i can determine they sell two, the one I'm interested in is the more expensive one - model # 65345-1vga. From what i observed, that model looks a lot like the turncrafter & the vaga. Any information would be greatly appreciated - Thanks ----Irwin

From what I could find from online reviews it said the following:
Strengths: A good solid small lathe. I haven't had any reason to complain yet. Standard sized fittings such as the 1/2" tool mount and MT1 head and tail stocks mean I can get accessories.

Weaknesses: MT1, while a standard size, isn't as common as MT2. So some stuff just plain isn't available for it. But most things are, such as drill chucks, various centers, etc. Also, there's no bed extension available for it that I've found. I'd like to add a bit of length for tool handles and such.

I have added two links for you. There you can buy at very reasonable price all diifrent tools. Since wood lathes have been around for well more than a century. In some regions of the world such as forests of the Chiltern Hills in the UK, old-style pole lathes were in use until the 1950s. Today there are several kinds of lathes in use, mainly differing in the size of wood they turn; the pen lathe, mini lathe and floor lathe. There are many supplies needed to work a piece of wood on a lathe and also many accessories that are optional.
This links below you should keep handy for any future purchase. Good Luck!
